Quote of the day

"There are two concealments [of Gd]." (Rabbi Nachman Breslov of, Likutey Moharan I, 56)

Comment: The first concealment is when we know what Hashem expects from us, but we think to have a good reason not to do it. The second concealment is twofold (a concealment concealed); in that case, whe do not even know the true nature of G-d's will.

In the first concealment, we put forward our tiredness, our lack of money, our limited time or intellectual ... not to do this or that mitzvah, or - in more serious cases - to commit a particular transgression. Ideally, we know that we should not do that, however ...

In the second concealment, we don't know that G-d wants a particular thing from us. For various reasons, we believe that the situation has changed and what is written (in the Torah) no longer applies to us ; also, by our sheer ignorance, we do things which are opposed to the Divine Will, without knowing it.
